The aim of this study (conducted in Beijing) was to evaluate whether combination of point-of-care test (POCT) and routine real-time PCR for pathogen detection, could reduce duration and improve de-escalation of intravenous antibiotics in individuals with LRTI compared with routine real-time PCR only.
